In Connecticut, MA, RI & Eastern NY

A Zerodraft Insulation LLC worker applying spray insulation to a home in Connecticut. There's no better home-insulating material that can seal your home or commercial project from air and moisture intrusion, save on costly utility bills, strengthen your home, and protect your health from dangerous mold, airborne pollutants and allergens than Icynene Spray Foam insulation.

Icynene spray foams are the newest technology in home and commercial building insulation. They provide increased thermal efficiency "that means they provide your home with better insulating qualities". They are great at sound reduction, and can be installed in new or existing construction. Zerodraft Insulation LLC is a certified and factory trained Icynene contractor and offers several options of open and closed cell Icynene spray foam insulation.

Open Cell & Closed Cell Foams

Open Cell

Worker spraying Icynene Sprayfoam Insulation Tiny cells of the foam are not completely closed. They are broken and air fills all of the "open" space inside the material. This makes the foam softer feeling than closed-cell foam.

  • Advantages: more economical yield, excellent thermal insulating and air barrier properties, incredibly effective as a sound barrier
  • Disadvantages: softer, "spongier" appearance, lower strength and rigidity than closed-cell foams

Closed Cell

Worker spraying Icynene Sprayfoam InsulationDiffers in that all of its tiny foam cells are closed and packed together. They are filled with a gas that helps the foam rise and expand and become a greater insulator. Closed cell foam would be a good choice where small framing sizes need the greatest R-value per inch possible. Closed-cell foam is often used for roofing applications and commercial wall applications.

  • Advantages: Strength, higher R-value, and its greater resistance to the leakage of air or water vapor
  • Disadvantage: denser, requires more material

Zerodraft Comfort and Energy Specialists offer specific foam solutions for Residential and commercial use. Our licensed and experienced installers can have your home or commercial insulation upgraded in no time.

If you are looking for an upgrade to your home that will save you money in Connecticut, spray insulation may be it. We at Zerodraft Insulation LLC use a variety of foams that can lower your energy bill. We will decide on the best one for your home during the free consultation, answering any questions you may have.

We use various forms of Icynene Spray Foam, with the main choices being open or closed cell. Open cell foams tend to be softer, and it usually takes very little of this product to fill a space. It can also act as a good sound barrier, but the downside is that it is not as strong as the closed cell foam, which is unlikely to leak air or water and is thus used most often on roofs.

Don't worry if you do not clearly understand the differences between the foams we use, as we will use our expertise to determine the best one for your property. However, we are also happy to explain the process to you as we go if you prefer. Either way, we are proud to offer quality products to homes in Connecticut. Spray insulation services can be scheduled today when you call Zerodraft Insulation LLC.
